Our Courses For

The Healthcare industry requires physical and mental health first aid training from Madeleys First Aid Plus for several important reasons:

  1. Patient Safety: Healthcare professionals are responsible for the well-being and safety of patients. Physical first aid training ensures that healthcare workers are equipped with the necessary skills to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies that may arise within healthcare settings. They can provide immediate care and stabilize patients' conditions until further medical assistance is available.
  2. Occupational Hazards: Healthcare workers are exposed to a variety of occupational hazards, including needlestick injuries, exposure to infectious diseases, chemical hazards, and physical exertion. Physical first aid training helps healthcare professionals recognize and respond to these specific hazards, preventing further harm and ensuring their own safety.
  3. Emergency Situations: Healthcare settings, such as hospitals or clinics, can experience critical incidents or emergencies that require immediate action. Physical first aid training prepares healthcare workers to handle these situations effectively, whether it's responding to cardiac arrest, managing severe bleeding, or providing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). This training enhances their ability to save lives and provide timely and appropriate care.
  4. Mental Health Support: Healthcare professionals frequently encounter emotionally challenging situations, including dealing with patients in distress, handling traumatic events, or witnessing the suffering of others. Mental health first aid training equips healthcare workers with the knowledge and skills to recognize signs of mental distress, provide initial support, and direct individuals to appropriate resources for professional help. This training fosters a supportive and compassionate environment within the healthcare industry.
  5. Workplace Stress and Burnout: The healthcare profession is demanding and often characterized by high levels of stress, long working hours, and challenging workloads. Mental health first aid training helps healthcare workers develop resilience, self-care strategies, and coping mechanisms to manage workplace stress effectively and prevent burnout. It promotes overall well-being and mental health awareness among healthcare professionals.
  6. Communication and Teamwork: Effective communication and teamwork are critical in healthcare settings to ensure patient safety and coordinated care. Physical and mental health first aid training enhances communication skills, teaches conflict resolution, and promotes a culture of mutual support and collaboration among healthcare professionals. This training improves the overall quality of care and patient outcomes.
  7. Continual Professional Development: The healthcare industry is constantly evolving with new medical advancements and techniques. Madeleys First Aid Plus provides ongoing training and updates to healthcare professionals, ensuring they stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and best practices in physical and mental health first aid. This continual professional development enhances the skills and expertise of healthcare workers, enabling them to provide the highest level of care to their patients.

By providing physical and mental health first aid training, Madeleys First Aid Plus supports the Healthcare industry in creating a safe and supportive environment for both patients and healthcare professionals. This training ensures the well-being of healthcare workers, enhances patient care, and contributes to the overall improvement of the healthcare industry as a whole.

Voices of Trust and Success

I can’t believe how much I learned about mental health in just one day. The course is really interesting and very informative - Lou teaches in a way that enables plenty of interaction and discussion between the learners, breaking down any stigma people may have about talking about mental health issues. I now think very differently about how a person may be thinking or feeling, and I am mindful of their words and actions and how it could be a warning sign or a cry for help. Being a mental health first aider means I could make a difference to someone who is struggling. That is a massive and personal thing to me.

First Aid for Mental Health

Audrey Whyle, ArtShack

I have been singing her praises and we're already booked in for our First Aid at work and safeguarding training.

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable People

Fearless Female Education Ltd

An excellent course that was informative and well taught. Louise did a brilliant job of explaining all areas of First Aid-what we needed to do and why which massively helped the learning experience and my ability to retain life saving information. I would highly recommend this course.

Emergency First Aid at Work

Katie Iles, The SeaChange Trust

From the start to finish Louise was informative, practical and interesting. With her extensive background and experience within the medical industry including A an E, she was able to pitch real scenarios at us regardless of the nature of our business or employment which made the whole day much more relevant. Very Highly recommended to anyone either refreshing or starting First Aid for the first time and I wouldn't hesitate to offer her and Madeleys First Aid Plus services to anyone who needs First Aid qualifications.

First Aid at Work

Phil Rowley, Rowley Racing

Louise came highly recommended for Mental Health First Aid training and after a chat with her, I quickly realised she was definitely the right fit for me and my team. Louise was efficient, patient (7 rather chatty women), friendly and tremendously knowledgable which made the course one of the best training sessions I have ever been on. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day and nearly three weeks later, we are still talking about the training and more importantly, putting it into practice. I feel fortunate to have found someone who understood our needs and could deliver so effectively to such a diverse team. Keeping everyone's interest and getting all of us engaged is no meant feat and Lou made it look easy.
